Abstract
A 32-year-old female presented with severe left buttock and left leg pain associated with prosthetic disc nucleus (PDN) migration, which was implanted 5 years earlier due to left L4-5 disc extrusion. Computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging revealed extensive endplate destruction. The patient was successfully treated by anterior lumbar interbody fusion and percutaneous pedicle screw fixation alone at L4-5. In the case of failed implantation of a PDN device, the anterior approach for removal of the device could be a good treatment option to prevent the risk of neural injuries and related complications.
